Wouldn’t it be awesome to do something you love and get paid for it? Well , with a little bit of innovation and thought, it can be done. People do it everyday. There are CEO’s making millions doing something that they love (or simply makes money). There are also smaller businesses are waking up everyday excited because they are doing something they enjoy. If there are people doing it everyday, then there is room for more.
Here are the three reasons you should start a sports business:
1) You know what it takes to be successful
When I say “you know what it takes”, I’m not necessarily talking about the knowledge of how to run a business. What I’m saying is that you understand that it takes things such as hard work and dedication to be successful in something. Let’s compare it to a season of your favorite sport. Throughout the season, there’s always a series of ups and downs. Sometimes everything goes right, and other times, everything goes wrong, even to the point where giving up may be a thought. However, we know that in order to be a champion, you have to endure the tough times. Just like sports , business is filled with ups and downs. Some beginning a business with little to no knowledge, and others enter with a wealth of knowledge and resources. Whichever the case may be, it can be achieved.
2) Even when you feel like giving up, you won’t without a fight
In 2016, we saw both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Cubs overcome 3-1 deficits to become champions. I’m sure at times, a lingering thought of defeat was amongst them. However , these teams were able to overcome that and go on to win. When starting a sports business, there will be times in which you may doubt yourself. Will people buy from me? Will people like my idea? Will people pay attention to what I’m trying to do? In the beginning , these answers may seems hard to find. But the key is to keep learning and never give up. If you don’t give up, you’ll be successful. Even if the initial business doesn’t go well, you leave with much more knowledge than you had before you started the business.
3) Something you’ll always love
Doing something you love will feel less like work than doing something you don’t like. Whether it’s coaching, making sports t-shirts, bracelets, or a wearable, doing something in sports or sports related, gives you that extra push to do continue doing something. Its always easier to be creative , and passionate about the thrill of sports.
